Poster Child: A Memoir
by Emily Rapp, Class of '96

2006. Emily Rapp was born with a congenital defect that required, at the age of four, that her left foot be amputated. By the time she was eight she’d had dozens of operations and her entire leg below the knee had been amputated. She had also become the smiling, always perky, indefatigable poster child for the March of Dimes. All the while she was learning to live with what she called “my grievous, irrevocable flaw,” and the paradox that being extraordinary was the only way to be ordinary. Order a signed copy today!

Love, Love, Love: And Other Essays
by Charles Taliaferro, Professor of Philosophy

2006. In forty-three brief essays from the life of a philosopher, Charles Taliaferro guides us toward the heart of human being in all of its absurdity and joy. Electrocuted by his coffee maker during class, battling dragons on his rooftop, and accompanying his father to the border between life and death, Taliaferro recommends to us a life vulnerable to silliness, pain, and the depths of love they create in us. Hilarious and sobering, Love, Love, Love investigates what we need most to live humanely, humorously, faithfully, and well.
Cowley Publications. Paperback. $14.95
