2007. Nightshade, a mixed a cappella vocal ensemble, is a student-directed
sextet at Carleton which performs selections from a variety
of genres, including classical, jazz, spiritual, madrigal
and pop. Barefoot — recorded, mixed and mastered
during May of 2007 — is Nightshade's first CD, and
features twelve of the ensemble's favorite songs.

Chris "CoCo" Courneen, Inside CoCo's World's award-winning, sold-out
run at Carleton College is part high-energy theatrical dance
production, part academic lecture. Examining the world of theatrical
productions and their relationship to identity and masking, the
influence of the Africanist perspective on American performance,
the tradition of Black vernacular dance, and dichotomies of high
and low art, Inside CoCo's World takes the audience on an over-the-top
journey through the creative mind of CoCo, immersing them in
a world of music and dance created by Courneen's imagination
and played out on stage.

In Full Circle features Carleton's renowned "Garden
of
Quiet Listening." Recognized as one of the top ten Japanese
style gardens outside of Japan, the garden exemplifies the best
practices and principles of design and maintenance. The video
not only explores how these time honored principles find expression
in the Carleton garden but the process by which the garden was
created and has evolved since 1974. Included on the DVD is a
lecture on the principles of Japanese style garden design given
recently at Carleton by David Slawson, the garden's eminent designer.
This engaging video will appeal to both the seasoned professional
and the amateur gardener as well. Produced by Bardwell Smith.
